SummersRadio™ New Music! Saschienne - 'Unknown' (Original Mix)/ 'Knopfauge' (Original Mix)

Saschienne are a duo from Berlin consisting of Sascha Funke and Julienne Dessagne. They released their debut album called 'Unknown' in March on the Kompakt label, and they've just released the title track as the first official single. The two track EP features the 'Original Mix' as well as the 'Dixon Mix'.

The title 'Unknown' doesn't mean that the song is without a name - but instead refers to the unknown itself - as the Julienne sings "This Unknown... keeps us together, brings us closer." The duo - who are also married - remind me a bit of Everything But The Girl - if they were perhaps based in Germany instead of England - as their album is an ecelectic mix of electronica and deep house. Julienne's vocals are also reminicent of Mazzy Star's Hope Sandoval on some of her electronic collaborations.
